DOTU Members

What is a Member?

A member is anyone supporting the production of DOTU through a subscription program – either through Patreon (patrons) or straight through the DOTU website. Members pay an amount of their choice on a monthly basis, and their contribution funds the creation of new comic pages, Merritt’s Story, and all other bonus content.

Why Become a Member?

Members of DOTU get access to early pages, private pages, Merritt’s Story, bonus art, and minicomics – all while helping to fund the creation of more DOTU pages!

Demon of the Underground is a 100% independent crowdfunded webcomic. I don’t get paid by any platform, publisher, or collective, and that allows me to tell the story in its most authentic form. But it also means that the support of readers is vital to keep the comic running!

When I’m not working on DOTU, I’m a freelance illustrator. I take as much work as I need to pay my bills. But when members help to fund DOTU, I can take less freelance and spend more time making new pages!

I’ve been able to continue DOTU for all these years because of member support, and I owe all of you a huge thank you!

Keeping DOTU Running

DOTU’s members have kept the comic running for years, leading to higher quality pages, tons of bonus content, and an entire members-only novel series about Merritt’s past. I’m a full-time artist, and DOTU is a significant part of my career.

A few years ago, I moved to a new place and had to reduce my DOTU page schedule to 2x per month so I could take more freelance to cover expenses. I’d love to return to a faster schedule, but to do that, I need more funding for the comic.

My goal is to always make time for DOTU, no matter how busy I am with other paying work. You can help me reach this goal by pledging on Patreon, and in return, you’ll get access to more comic pages and bonus content!

Leave a Tip with Ko-fi

If you’d like to make a one-time contribution to the comic, you can send any amount from $3 and up via Ko-fi. Money I earn through here will go toward business expenses and equipment that are needed for the comic, standalone illustrations, bonus pages, and other non-recurring events.

Vote on Top Webcomics

The higher a comic ranks on Top Webcomics, the more referrals they get. I also post bonus art (“voting incentives”) that you can see after you vote. You can vote for DOTU once per day per machine. I get more referrals from Top Webcomics than I get from anywhere else, so votes are extremely helpful! You can find the vote button in the sidebar and below every comic page. And here!

Spread the Word!

Webcomic creators who don’t work with publishers usually have a pretty small advertising budget, so we’re always super grateful when readers share our comics with their friends! One of the easiest ways to do this is to share DOTU’s page updates on your preferred social media platform. I post page update notices on Facebook, Tumblr, and Twitter. Shares are never expected or demanded, but always appreciated!
