This is the most text-heavy page I’ve had in a very long time. But every instructional book I’ve ever read says that the best way to break up long passages of text is with flailing ferrets, so there you go. 🙂 This is also probably the most autobiographical moment you’ll ever see in any of my works, haha.
In other news, I just wanted to give everyone some updates on some of the stuff people have been asking about: specifically, the DOTU card deck and my Art of Death novel series. To summarize upfront, I’m behind schedule on everything due to being busy with work, but it’s all still going to happen. 😉
I’m making a few changes and improvements to the card deck. I’ll be changing the artwork for the backs of the cards because I’ve found that, after two years of light use, the heavy black ink isn’t holding up as well as I’d like. Also, the company that prints the cards now offers poker deck boxes, so I’ll be adding that to the set. I’m also making a few modifications to the rules for better clarity and a better experience. I need to make the changes and additions and also have it proofed before the decks can go back on sale, but after I wrap up my current freelance work, this is my top priority.
People have also been asking about when the third book in my Art of Death series will be published. I’ll admit that I’m really still not in the writing or publishing mindset, and I’m really not “back” in the writing community either. It’s been a slow transition coming back after a year of illness, and I’m still working slow and trying to focus on my art and the art/webcomic community first because that’s where I’m the most comfortable. So it might be a little while longer before I can really get back into writing. However, a third book IS still going to happen!
OH, I forgot to mention! Next week will be the 100TH PAGE OF DOTU! So I’ll be celebrating with another bonus page on the following Thursday, August 7!
And finally, in fitting with the theme of this week’s page, the new Top Webcomics voting incentive is a page of ferret sketches that I did as a warmup. You can vote and see the sketches by clicking the TWC button below or in the sidebar.
